2008 has seen many positive changes for the organization. Volunteer club members have rebuilt and updated club property and equipment.
The NEKFG web site has been redesigned and updated.
The Club House, Pistol Shoot Building, and the main club rifle range steel building roofs have been recoated.
Major road work has been completed on several pieces of club property.
The Bench Rest building interior and exterior has been totally refurbished.
Electrical updates on the Bench Rest and Pistol Shoot buildings are complete.
The Archery Building is being remodeled along with repairs to the 3D archery range.
The new adjoining property purchased by the club in 2006 is under development including plans for another pistol range and a 600yd rifle range.
Road work, an access gate and work on the dam has been completed on the new property.
A media committee has been formed to handle public relations.
Several pieces of trap equipment have been refurbished.
A target lighting system and has been added to the bench rest range.
Security lighting has been installed at the pistol range parking area.
The club telephone system has been updated including the addition of an answering machine. Messages are checked and replies are made daily by club officers.
Lighting improvements to the outside Benchrest range firing line have been completed.
Club member's rules of conduct were reviewed and revised for 2009.
A required orientation program has been developed for new members and will begin in 2009.
Automatic door closers have been installed at the pistol range building to complete the winterizing process on that building.
Updates to the Clubhouse exterior were completed in December. New soffit, fascia board, and guttering have been installed.
Heating, electrical updates and entrance door repairs to the Clubhouse were completed in December.
The Board of Directors placed a hold on the the safety rules and orientation program until the 2009 board election.
